A full training programme is offered by the club, both in and out of the water. Starting with once a week, growing to five days a week, this programme increases in line with the ability level of the swimmer, and is based on the long term athlete development (LTAD) pathway recommended by Swim England.
There are two different types of training in Artistic Swimming:
Pool Training - where swimmers will learn all they need to perform in the water. This will include Artistic Swimming Skills to prepare for Grades (see Skills and Grades page for more information), Team routines, stamina, breathing and swimming techniques.
Land Training - where swimmers train out of the water, usually in a large space. This includes strength and conditioning, flexibility, splits training and routine ‘walk throughs’ (where teams practice their routine formation on land).
